A personal post form me..

A personal post from me, you may have noticed that I was MIA last week on my social media platforms.. well that is because I was living in the moment,  my middle Son Linken started kindy!

While I was still physically working I took the week to start this new chapter with my boy.

It has been super emotional for me; this little man is my son I tell you all about at your sessions that keeps me on my toes.

Linken wasn’t always so crazy! this little boy was very sick when he was born, Ian and I (my husband) thought we had struck gold with this perfect baby, who slept 24/7, we’d have to wake him to feed and even then he wasn’t like our boobie monster daughter he wasn’t all that interested. At 3 weeks old we drove up the cost to meet my cousins and Linken again slept the entire day away. My cousins were also blown away.

When we returned home we noticed he was burning up and had a rash all over his little face. We couldn’t get his temp down so rushed in to Emergency, the doctors saw him right away, took blood samples and explained to us a newborn with temps so high may not make it… we were just so scared! We thought we would just be told he had a virus and needed some meds, except we didn’t get to leave we spent an entire week in hospital watching our new baby have a lumbar puncture, bloods, urine tests, ultra sounds, etc  to figure out what was wrong. It turns out he had vesicoureteral reflux, basically he had a hole in his bladder that caused urine to travel up the ureter tubes to the kidneys, he also had a UTI. After several large doses of different Antibiotics and spending a very lonely new year’s period in the children’s ward at Nepean hospital we finally got to go home.

What they didn’t explain to us in hospital was that this was an ongoing condition and had to have anti biotics daily, even still he copped many UTI’s so bad he would have raging temps, a lifeless body and was just so lethargic. We’d have to go back to the Paediatrician and adjust his daily meds.

The catch was the meds made him have no immune system and was not allowed in sunlight.. right so that worked well with our 2.5 year old active toddler NOT!

18 months down the track our Pead advised that Linken had to have tests run to see if the still had the reflux and if it hard scared his Kidneys permanently. We were talking circumcision, operations to fix the bladder but thankfully after the most invasive test I have ever witnessed we got the good news his Kidney’s were fine and he could slowly come off his meds.

But after the first 2 years of his little life never being chastised or in trouble or needed to reprimand him our little boy began to become very spirited, challenging and plain naughty! He didn’t like hearing no, he didn’t like consequence he didn’t like getting in trouble but that didn’t stop him, he had a new sense of adventure, energy and loved being destructive ! Gosh he made our lives crazy! Still to this day I am that crazy mum in the shops yelling LINKEN come here!! LINKEN DON’T TOUC H THAT, LINKEN APLOGISE TO THE LADY FOR…

On the 1st of February 2018 we put on his school uniform and told him how proud we were of him, he was so proud of himself and was so excited to “grow up” and boy has he ever! I have never seen a child change so much so quickly! It’s exactly what he needed. I expected drama, tears but I will admit I was wrong! He has nailed it and I am so damn proud! And so glad I got to be by his side.  I love my business more than anything but I am also a Mum and a Mum who likes to be in the moment, and my role of being a Mum is the whole reason I started my business.

I am so blessed in this wonderful life! To have an awesome business and be here for my family and to share it with you all. Yes there is a real human behind all the photos! Haha.

Here’s to sharing more of ‘me’ in 2018
